I want to have a say about Ms El-Neil although I am not a patient. I am a member of 2 mesh related support groups. I would love to be well enough to travel to London to be treated by Ms El-Neil she has successfully treated so many members of the groups where I offer support as well as being mesh injured too. In the groups we help each other through this terrible time in our lives (up to 20yrs) when we are denied NHS care. Miss El-Neil has used her specialist (FGM) knowledge & expertise to remove mesh and repair the damage it causes to help and support so many who had been denied by other NHS professionals. She is building a great team to help continue in this work. The people I try to help and support praise her listening and caring approach to her work which with her skills she is easily the best in the Country. Ms El-Neil should be funded by the NHS to create the Leading Mesh Removal Unit in the UK and given funding to allow for her to pass her expert knowledge and skills by training others. I know this is a response from all her previously desperate mesh injured patients as we try to support each other within the groups both preop postop and during recovery which isn't always uneventful. I wish more NHS professionals were like her but the NHS does not appear to be about helping people any more. Nowadays its more about money from the trust executives and managers down. I know from experience of the changes I worked within the NHS for 16 years. molly (Mesh Injured patient & member of mesh injured support groups)

After Medical Negligence from a Bristol suspended surgeon, went to see the lovely Dr Elneil. At last I felt listened to. Such a wonderful doctor and surgeon. She, together with her Colo Rectal Colleague Dr Obichere had a huge surgery on their hands. My mesh had migrated everywhere, Rectopexy Mesh fixed in wrong place. Mesh eroded everywhere and severe adhesions. I am now 12 weeks into recovery. Small bowel resection, Protectomy, adhesion Removal and Ileostomy. My small bowel had swollen to 6 x normal size. It would have perforated. These two surgeons saved my life. S. Van der Heijden

I first saw Miss Elneil privately in 2013, I had then suffered since 2005 with mesh related problems, it was such a relief to meet a doctor who took my problems seriously. I have had 4 operations with Miss Elneil, I completely trusted that she could help me and she did. Her surgical skills are excellent, she is also the most kind, warm and compassionate person. Miss Elneil takes genuine interest in her patient and their wellbeing. I am not surprised that she is inundated with work, a doctor like Miss Elneil is difficult to find.
